How far is the Kartarpur Corridor from Amritsar?

Dera Baba Nanak, in Gurdaspur district, is about 45 km from Amritsar on NH354B, which is roughly an hour by car. The Passenger Terminal Building is a few kilometres further, at the border.

The corridor itself is a 4.1 km four-lane road from Dera Baba Nanak to the international border, and from there pilgrims cross to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur in Pakistan, about 4.5 km away.

Is the Kartarpur Corridor open right now?

No. The official portal of the Ministry of Home Affairs states that, considering the extant security scenario, the services of the Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor are suspended till further directions.

We do not want anyone travelling to the border on a promise we cannot keep. Message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you the position as we know it, and point you to the official portal so you can see the current status for yourself.

What can we still visit at Dera Baba Nanak?

Gurdwara Dera Baba Nanak, on the Indian side of the border, is the historic shrine connected with Guru Nanak Dev Ji, and it sits close to the Ravi river. Pilgrims visit it through the year.

It is a quiet, moving place, and with the corridor closed the numbers are small. Combine it with Tarn Taran Sahib or Goindwal Sahib and it makes a worthwhile day out of Amritsar.

What is needed to cross when pilgrimages resume?

Registration is done online in advance on the Government of India portal and there is no registration fee. Applicants who are granted permission receive an Electronic Travel Authorization by email and must carry a printout.

A valid passport is required, and for pilgrims travelling morning to evening only. When the corridor runs, each pilgrim pays a USD 20 service fee to Pakistan on arrival, and only Sri Kartarpur Sahib may be visited — no travel beyond it.

How do we book a taxi to Dera Baba Nanak?

Send us your date, the number of passengers and where you want to be collected. It is an hour each way; most people spend one to two hours at the shrine and then travel back.

We can drop you there and return, wait with the car, or combine it with Tarn Taran Sahib and Goindwal Sahib in one day. The fare is quoted on WhatsApp for whichever plan you choose.
